In a school, the ceiling does more than finish a room. It shapes how sound carries, how a space feels, and how well students can focus. At Carson City High School, we partnered with CORE Construction on a full ceiling renovation designed to improve both the look and the acoustics of the learning environment.
On this project, the schedule mattered as much as the scope. The work was completed in phases over multiple years, and each phase had to begin the moment school let out for summer and be fully finished before students returned in the fall. With no room for delays, careful planning and tight coordination with CORE Construction were essential to delivering every phase on time.
Each phase began with demolition of the existing ceilings. We then framed and installed new drywall ceilings.
The project specified high noise reduction acoustical ceiling tile (ACT), installed throughout.
To give the ceilings a polished architectural look, we installed specialty Axiom trims throughout the ACT ceilings. These trims create crisp, clean edges and seamless transitions between ceiling planes, lifting the finished result well beyond a standard grid ceiling.
The result is a school that sounds better and looks sharper, delivered phase by phase without ever disrupting the school year.
